Description

Strat® style replacement neck features a ebony fingerboard fitted with 22 jumbo frets.  If installing vintage tuners; you may be required to install 10 mm adapter bushings.

This Strat® style neck is made in Indonesia with quality tone woods.  Due to the nature of wood, no two necks are the same and may differ from what is pictured.  Never force the neck into the pocket; it should just drop into the neck pocket or be a little snug.  Remember that the finish of the neck and body will make the neck pocket smaller.

Neck was perfect. It fit snug in the neck pocket of the strat style basswood body. It was straight and flat and required no work on the nut or frets. The only real surprise is how hard the maple is. Nothing is drilled for mounting to the body so I had to line those up and drill the holes. I had to go a little larger and deeper than I first thought because it was so hard to get the screws in. So even though the basswood body is soft, the neck is so hard that there is no issue about getting a solid connection between the two that is not likely to ever loosen.

Perfect fit and feels . The ebony is nice for the price. Nut and frets didn’t need any work other than for personal preferences.

I have mixed feelings about this neck.

If you have some basic setup skills, it’s a great buy, but if not it might be worth going for something a little higher-end.

Mine had the worst fret-sprout i’ve ever seen, the frets were terribly dull looking and not level at all, and there were a few finish blemishes that could be a deal breaker for some.

Fortunately, I was planning to do a full fret-level, refinish, and inlay replacement anyway so the defects were a non-issue for me. After a bit of work, I wound up with a very beautiful, comfy, and rock-solid neck.

A note about the profile – it does fill very slightly chunkier and rounder than most modern fender necks, but not by a lot.
