A nice kit. Neck fit well, frets were good, body was in good shape, and overall it’s a really nice looking instrument. It benefits greatly from small upgrades like a new nut or a bridge, and a little extra sanding of the tremelo rout to prevent rubbing when under tension. Ran into a few minor construction issues but they probably wouldn’t be a problem for anyone with some kit experience (which is, uh, not me).
The “jag switches” don’t do much beyond muting but can be wired for tone and phase. I haven’t done that yet. 🙂
Overall it was a fun kit to build and makes a pretty nice offset guitar.

The mahogany body is just the right weight to create a balanced instrument. It was an adventure filling the open pores and grains, but, my sonic blue paint job came out good.
The parts were all fine, even the whammy bar was right on.
The electronics allow for a world of experimentation way beyond the needs of the majority of guitarists. Although the slide switches are primitive compared to other switching options today, they can deliver just about anything, but, it’s way hard to remember their roles. The look of all the switches is iconic – must have seemed way tricked out for the time.
Working on the neck right now . . .

I had bought the B-Stock Plus of this kit, which had very minor damages (thus B stock plus). Since it was for my wife, and she wanted a paint job rather than dye, the imperfections did not matter.
The wood is all high quality, the electronics quite good for the price as well. This kit was not too hard to build. Everything lined up great. My only issue was that the upper switches had to be unsoldered first as there was no way of fitting them through the small hole. No big deal, but maybe something to consider in the future.
