I was satisfied for the most part there were a few quality control issues. The first issue was tuning machine screw hole alignment I had too drill an additional hole to get them to align. Second pick guard was scratched and there were bubbles on the face itself. Third the kit was missing back plate screws. I had a little grounding issue so instead of using the whole on the claw plate sanded the back of the plate and spread the wire and that seem to do the trick. Also I had to lower the pickups which I figure most new guitars need some type adjusting. Wow it feels like away more expensive guitar.

this DIY kit was my first solo kit experience . shipping was prompt . arrived in 3 days. opened the box, well packaged. the body looks good… assembly was easy. 3 solder joints to do. the neck I was surprised to find wasn’t finished. it had a sealer on it but rough and needed sanding and a few coats of lacquer. tuning peg screw holes are not the best . miss alignment I just left it as it was. looks ok not really noticeable from a distance. 3 hrs later screwed the neck on put some strings on her. initial set up went well.. truss rod tightening to get neck relief. bridge setup , intonation was close 3 strings needed adjustment. it still needs some fine tuning but within 4 hrs total time it was plugged into an amp and she sang her first notes. tonight 2 hrs of fine tuning and set up and she plays fine. just finished a test drive and everything works just fine. different voicing of the pickups stand out. not a bad guitar for min dollars.

Great kit finish and fit was awesome. Upgraded pups to Alnico 5 ‘s, Graph Tech nut, Wilkinson Tuners with all black hardware. This resulted in an awesome Strat guitar. Would definitely recommend. I have purchased several Solo kits in past and have not been disappointed yet. Thank you Solo,Matt and crew.
