I recently completed this kit, and now have a functional, lightweight Tele style guitar. I found the kit to be fine — all parts fit, everything included, shipping went well, service very good. The neck was straight and fit the body well; I did not need to do anything particularly difficult. The solderless electronics (and the assembly in general) are dead easy — hook A to A and B to B etc. All works well. The end product depends VERY much on your ability to finish the wood — I’m just a beginner there but even so, the guitar looks passable. I have virtually no experience and no shop to work in, and was still able to finish the project with no problems. The end quality is so-so, so far — evidently the electronics and such are not top quality — but I’m still not sure what is the result of the components and what is my lack of experience. The guitar is playable and sounds good. I am still learning about the proper set up and such.
I did need to sand down the nut a bit (it was way too high from the factory) and clean up some of the frets — but that’s also part of the fun of a kit. I have no problem recommending Solo.

I purchased this kit as a project my 8yrs old daughter and I could do together. I choose the solderless so she could experience and understand all the parts of an electric guitar and how they work… and do it all herself. We did use a fender replacement neck.. it fit perfectly with the kit, alignment, intonation, etc.. are spot on. We hand finished the wood with “tru oil” the gunstock finish.. ( as recommended in the instructions) it came out a very nice, high gloss finish.
We upgraded the bridge to one with individually adjustable brass saddles and we will likely upgrade the pickups at some point.. however the ones supplied with the kit are not bad at all. Playability and sound of the guitar is very nice and something she can treasure….

I recently completed this kit however there were some minor issues. The body was nice and the neck pocket perfect, however one of the holes didn’t line up for the neck pickup ring. Not sure if the body was drilled wrong or if the pickup ring was defective. I had to drill my own hole. As for the solderless wiring… Not so much. The wires for the neck pick arrived laying loose in the bag. They must have come undone in shipping. I had to contact support to find out exactly which way the wiring was supposed to go and resolder them. The neck is much nicer than expected. Perfectly straight and needed only a minor fret dressing. However, some screw holes for the tuning keys were slightly off so a few of the tuning keys are slightly crooked. My biggest complaint with the neck though is the 12” radius, but that’s personal preference. Setup was a breeze. Sound OK at best. Tuning stability not great. Overall, it’s OK for the price. Will I build another from them? Probably not, but that’s mainly due to the 12” radius necks that come with all the kits. The cheap hardware wouldn’t cost that much to replace (I already have other pickups I could use), but a new neck isn’t so cheap.

This is my second Solo Tele kit. It arrived in good time and all looks good. Haven’t started the build yet, but looking forward to doing this one. My last kit was a painted body kit so will be doing the staining on this one.

Product as described. All parts fit properly. Great project with a quality guitar after you finish. I would recommend this kit to anyone.
