I purchased the Wilkinson set, (i.e. Neck and Bridge – MWHB series) and installed them yesterday.
Man what a huge difference from the pickups which that came with the original SG Solo Kit. Now that I have replaced the nut, tuners, electronics and finally the pickups; these new pickups have eliminated the “BOOMY” sound. I have much more tone control over the full range of the tone pots. They sound GREAT. Better than expected.
The difference is like night and day and the Wilkinson’s were not very expensive being $20 each; but it was a MASSIVE difference in sound quality and tone. I am EXTREMELY pleased and look forward to building another kit in the future, but would order the same upgrades from the start.

I recently bought a pair of these pickups and they were even better than what others had reported. I’d put these up against Gibson’s standard pickups any time and the price is much much better.

I am stunned at what you get for the price here.
We replaced the stock pickups that come with the solo-sbk-150 kit on this website with these. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE!
Definitely worth at least trying out if you’re curious, or if you just need to replace a broken set.
