   Finally getting around to review these beautiful tuners.They dropped in and are almost identical to the ones they replaced on an old ’60 Yamaha SA something or other.they are light and very well made.The finish is great.the tuning slips a bit from day to day and this is why I waited with the review.It could be the guitar that is changing.It’s a very light finely made beast.But they tune very smoothly.A HUGE improvement over the originals .

   Perfect drop-in replacement for open-gear tuners with vintage screw spacing!

   Thank you, Solo. The stock 14:1 tuners on my Hofner Ignition Club Bass were horrible. Excessive play and poor gear mesh made it a chore to tune, and felt like they were going to break as each string approached concert pitch. High-end Gotoh, Grover and Waverly replacements are overpriced and on backorder everywhere. These Wilkinson’s have the best gear ratio at 19:1, anyway so I decided to take a chance on them.

   I’m very glad I did, as they fit the stock Ignition bushings perfectly. All I had to do was attach them using the stock Hofner screws. The backing plates are just large enough to cover the marks in the finish from the stock Chinese tuners, and allowed me to correct a misalignment on one without leaving unsightly holes. I like the metal knobs, but pearloid replacements are out there if you want a more correct look.

   Best of all, they tune as smoothly as the Graphtech and Hipshot tuners on my expensive basses!

   These machine heads are FANTASTIC !! I replaced the stock 14:1 machine heads on my entry level epiphone
   dreadnought. (DR-100)

   Wilkinson have made a high quality product that is very accurate and easy to replace.
