Congratulations goes out to Michael Tincombe for his guitar build, to earn him Guitar of the Month for June, 2025.

Michael used our TCK-69 kit as the basis to create his guitar.

“I received as a birthday gift from my wonderful family, a Solo TC Style DIY Electric Guitar Kit.  I immediately got to work sanding the neck and body following the instructions that came with the kit. I created hangers for both and built a spray painting station in my garage. I masked the fret board and binding. I then purchased the Deluxe Finishing Kit and I went with the Oxford Butterscotch Nitrocellulose finish.  I put my quality respiratory mask on to spray multiple coats of paint until I reached the desired colour. I then sanded the paint until it was a matte finish. I removed the masking from the body and then began the clear lacquer applications. I used 2.5 cans of lacquer spraying lightly on each application. Once the lacquer was done I removed the masking from the neck. I set it all aside for two excruciating weeks to let it cure. I then wet sanded the finish starting at 1000 grit progressing through to 2500 grit in the end I then applied two polishing compounds to achieve the final finish. I assembled the parts as the instructions indicated.

 It was very enjoyable doing a project like this for the first time.”
