I have a Fender Aerodyne SSS Strat that already comes stocked with a Babicz FC-2 bridge so this is an easy and seamless upgrade and experiment. When removed and weighed, the stock bridge weighs 133 grams and this new brass bridge weighs 321 grams. This brought a noticeable change in the guitar weight since the Aerodyne is light. There is a noticeable change as well in the unplugged sustain and string response of the guitar. Comparing side-by-side with a traditional strat, I think the guitar now moved further from the characteristics of a typical strat and maybe a tad closer to a National/Valco Res-o Guitar. I am not totally sure though if the the amplified tone change can be totally attributed to the tremolo bridge block because I have to change the strings and readjusted the bridge springs. I do not know the old string size, brand, or how old/how much played it was. The Aerodyne comes with locking tuners. The old string was wound maybe half to one and a half times to the tuner. There was not enough slack to reuse the same string after the change. The new string block catches the string ball end right at the edge of the block and the stock bridge block catches closer to the center. It is enough for the old strings to no longer reach the tuners. The new strings and other variables on amplified tone such as tone control, amps, speakers and pedals would all have big influence and I just tend to dial in on the tones I like instead of A-B tone comparing. I like the tone before the change, and I like the tone after the change. I already have a traditional strat. I like the string block modification on the Aerodyne Strat to make it distinct and can bring it back to stock again, should I wish.
