Description

CrystaLac Universal White is highly pigmented for great coverage using only 1 to 2 coats. It contains stain blockers to stop tannins from bleeding through to the surface. Easy to use and water clean-up. It adheres to most surfaces providing they are clean and do not have any waxes or polishes on them. Works well as a Primer / undercoat but also contains plenty of acrylic resin to protect as a Top Coat. For extra protection, we suggest using your choice of CrystaLac Clear Top Coats. Can easily be tinted with just a dab of latex colorant or water soluable dye. Universal White self-levels and won’t turn yellow with age.

Use our CraftNique Recipe book for easy to make standard colors or be creative and make your own colors.

Far too thin, needs just a bit more thickening. Does not cover the best, even with spraying. Very matte looking.

  2. Pierre Burelle (verified owner)

Very easy to apply, both with brush or spraying

So I found the quality and application of this paint (once I tinted it) to be fine. Coverage was good and pretty even with a foam brush. The only complaint, and this is more about a lack of research on my part, is that you really can’t get dark finishes from this base. I was looking for a fairly deep purple and using this paint base will result in a pretty light coloured coat. Not a problem if that’s what you’re going for, and it will result in a great bright finish but reach out to the manufacturer first for insights.

Good paint to use for a guitar body. My only advice for anyone is to be sure to give it a good mix before using it. The paint in the container I received was all settled so I had to give it a good stir. Other than that, good stuff!
