Replaced a Yamaha Pacifica’s pickups with EMG (Glen Tipton) pick ups with no solder connections and an active pickup battery hookup. Where to put the battery (9V)? Originally I had it in the cavity with the pots and switch, under the pick guard – what a pain in the hoop to change. This battery holder is just a box and I have maintained the original 9V connector that came with the EMGs. Battery pack is now mounted on the back of the guitar – just slightly more convenient (sarcasm). Suggest you make a router template so the battery pack fits snugly into the guitar body, if it is a little loose, you can always put a small starter hole through the plastic on the bottom and screw it in place. Obviously had to drill a hole to run the 9V line to the electronics but all in all, pretty easy to do. Also built a Fender Partscaster, utilizing a pre-wired EMG David Gilmour pick guard and also used one of these to add a battery pack to the back of the guitar – otherwise, under the pick guard it would have gone. Much nicer to change the battery and a very clean look on the back of the guitar. Work exactly as I hoped.👍. Very quick delivery by Solo as well, nice work guys.
