I have a Squier Vintage Modified 70’s Jazz bass. The Neck was a little messed on it and i figured I’d not only replace it, but upgrade. I replaced it with this neck. One thing to note is that the truss rod is at the base of the neck, so your body either needs to have a channel drilled so you can access it, or you will need to make one. Frankly, this is a much better design anyways, its easier to get at and adjust, it can be done with just a Phillips head screwdriver. The 70’s Fender machine heads will work on this neck.

The neck is beautiful, all of the frets are even and smooth. It also feels great, its easy to play up and down the neck, its not “over lacquered” to the point where your hand sticks to the back of the neck. I put this neck on a few months back and its revamped my jazz bass, I love playing it again.

The only minor issue was the nut. All the string slots in the nut were the same size and not quite big enough, so the strings sat a little high at the nut, still playable though. I filed down the string slots in the nut to get a more appropriate action. I don’t know if this was a one off, or intentional, either way, its not too hard of a fix.

Fender vintera roasted maple jazz bass neck. This is a pre review, The neck is not installed yet. the customer service at Solo is very good. Don’t hesitate to call, they are professional and answer phone calls quickly. The neck itself arrived in great shape. It’s a beauty. Looks straight. I’m going to have to do some work to make it fit since the body cavity is a little small for the neck. I think it’s more to do with the body that is a licensed by fender body made in the USA by bhco (not recommended). Overall if you’re looking for bass parts in Canada, I would recommend solo.
