I read a lot about the problems people have had with this jack ferrule and decided I would use an electrosocket that is screwed to the body instead of that little plate that holds the fender jack ferrule in place. Mr. Fender got 99.9 % of this guitar right.

Works as intended. You can build an installation jig out of a bolt, nuts and washers the same size as the hole. They’ve actually become my favourite jack cup on other guitars as long as the guitar allows you to get them flush and also use the jig. Nice and clean with no screws.
