This plane is named for it’s short rounded front end (which looks like a nose) and is used for planing in tight spaces. Mostly, it is used as a shoulder or rebate plane that works almost into corners. It has a cast body, finely ground base and sides and features a 1” wide blade, hardened to approximately 62 Rockwell.
