Very odd component choices for use in a guitar. The .47UF cap in particular, is enormous, because it’s rated for 630VDC. It’s pretty hard to find room for a 3/4″ long cap that’s more than a quarter inch in diameter in most control cavities.

Signal levels in passive instruments are well under 3V, and even the hottest active basses are only using a pair of 9V alkaline batteries in series to power the preamp. That’s 18VDC… These caps are better suited to use in circuitry around the high voltage supply on a tube amp.

The cap is NOT a .047 UF but rather a .47 UF. People don’t normally use a .47UF on a guitar. HOWEVER, I put a Mallory .47UF on my Fender Jazzaster and LOVED it !!! I have tried a standard orange Sprague .047UF on the same Jazzmaster and the sound was good — as a Fender Guitar usually is with such a capicitor. But the Mallory .47UF was just so much more beautiful. Sure it is a tight fit but it can be done on a Jazzmaster and on a Stratocaster. Not sure about on a Telecaster though — but I think it also would fit. Did you ever see the big original capacitors on true vintage Fender? They were also pretty big. Hell for the price of a capacitor why not try this Mallory and decide for yourself.
