Used it on the SGK-1 kit with Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90s. Very quiet; very happy.

  4. MathewL (verified owner)

Works great! Applied two coats to a guitar cavity I was working on. No noise!

  5. Paul Demunnick (verified owner)

Easy to apply and works amazing well for grounding your guitar cavities.

  6. Yan Bourgeois (verified owner)

Great products, I ordered the smaller size container and will likely have enough paint to do 3 or 4 more guitars.

I prefer paint over tape for shielding and this paint is great for that. Tested for continuity after it dried and it is doing its job.

An excellent shielding paint with a very good carbon mix. I have used other brands over the years and have always had to apply more than 1 coat to achieve proper conductivity. Not so with Solo’s mix. One coat and it was perfect with full conductivity. This is very cost effective and time saving so factor that into the price before you consider some of the “low price” shielding paints out there. I will be certainly be purchasing this from Solo again – great product!

Goes on great, works well! I bought the 8oz version but was a little surprised to see it arrive as 4x2oz cans 🙂 That just means the rest will stay fresher longer!

Works great, the best shielding paint I’ve found for price, effectiveness and coverage. I will definitely buy this again when I need more, but that will be at least three guitars from now!

After using Copper Shielding on my last 3 projects changing to Paint Shielding sure made things easier!!!! My future Projects will definitely include Paint shielding from SOLO. Great Service from these guys!!

Excellent paint. it’s very inexpensive, water-based, nearly odorless, and has good spread and adhesion.
A thin coat dries in about 20 minutes and is ready for a second coat. Two coats will get you to 30 Ohms/sq, which is good enough for basic shielding.
And 2oz goes very far, definitely enough for a couple guitars/basses at least.
It also worked great to shield a plastic-cased pedal.

I started out using copper tape for shielding but it was always a pain and often seem to come loose at the most inopportune times so then I discovered shielding paint on the Solo Guitar Site and it was so much easier and convenient and quicker. I am very pleased and my guitars sounds have less noise than before.

I really liked the clean up and overall it seemed to help.. but I’m only giving it 4 stars because it seemed to be quite less effective than using the foil tape. Using both together basically eliminated all hum on my 60’s strat.

It’s super easy to clean up as well. Seems to be waterbased so it essentially just wipes away with a wet cloth. Which was nice after dealing with finish and stains.

Also don’t be lazy when doing the pickguard, take the pickups out to get good coverage and avoid the stuff leaking into the pickups. This stuff can get pretty messy.
