I’m building my 4th Solo kit, and was happy to see that Solo now sells these neck plates. I’ve used Fender and Chinese plates like this for the other 3 kits -even a P-Bass (used a Fender plate because the size is very different). This is an incredibly easy mod to make to your kit (before you paint it!), and allows easy access to 2 more frets -I would never go back to square plates. They also fit Fender guitars perfectly (at least my Jeff Beck and a 1980 partscaster). At this price there’s no reason not to upgrade!

Um, btw, it’s not to “change the look of your guitar”, as Solo says, it’s to hugely improve upper-fret access. Google “Jeff Beck neck heel” and you’ll see how the body wood of the neck heel is cut away -this is the easy mod I mentioned in my review, and is why I’m a huge fan of these plates.

Looks and fits great. Most important, it provides a much better access to the high frets.
Better to install on unfinished neck and body when the screw holes are not drilled then
you do not have to plug the existing holes.
