These string trees work great and only require one hole to mount them.They are 1/3 the cost of the Fender single string trees and do the job.

It adds a bit of tension to the G string, but this thing bends up a lot of you try to use it without the spacer. I’m afraid that if you want the G string tight to the headstock, you’ll need to drill.
