Description
The Solo Workbench Mat is a great addition to your shop or repair area. Our oversized mat measures 35 1/2″ x 17 3/4″ and is made from double-sided stitched polyurethane leather that can be easily wiped clean. Measuring 4mm thick, our mat has two sides. Use the black side for more traditional repair work or use the red side to easily identify tiny parts such as screws, allen wrenches and more.
We’ve included a double-sided leather strap so you can roll the mat up and take it with you.

Very nice mat but I wish I could use the black side. It is shipped with the black side rolled inwards. So when I turn it over the edges roll up. It won’t lay flat even when I put a guitar case over it for 2 days. Red side is nice and flat.

It’s and awesome matt, i use mine constantly. however; here are some improvements to be made or considered. Make a second version with a real soft cow hide on one side and on the other side make it very dense material that could be wiped clean. because, if you do and wood work or metal work, like filing frets etc those little filings get embedded into the red or black side and are very hard to remove. these tiny abrasives can now cause damage to customer guitars if unknowingly lied on them. so make a change to one side really. that way we have a soft side and a hard side to different work types. or sell two versions. make more money. people will buy them. i would buy them right now if you had them.
CONS:
solder melts the matt and becomes embedded.
filings can get wedged into the material
hard to wipe clean as its textured rather than smooth
Can curl if rolled
not good for metal working surface or drilling/power tools can damage it easily
