Congratulations goes out to Ken Thomson for his guitar build, to earn him Guitar of the Month for August 2026.

Ken used our LPK-200 kit as the basis to create his guitar.

“I was nervous about the set neck, as it was my first attempt, but it was a thought out process and went very well…Titebond III is not a very forgiving wood glue, lol. The neck required a little attention with fret sprout but I’ve seen a lot worse. I will NOT claim responsibility for the beautiful wood burning art work, having taken 10’s of hours of hand wood burning, by a very talented local artist and Tattooist, Jason Dionne…..(and NOT 3-D printed, as some individuals have tried to claim).

Some build details:

1. Copper shielding in all the necessary cavities.
2. Made a jig to do the soldering outside the control cavity, hand wired by myself.
3. CTS 500k A&B tone and volume pots and .033 uf tone caps, switchcraft output jack and pickup switch, quality shielded wiring
4. Based on Jason’s recommendation I decided on black hardware, including the bridge, tailpiece, locking tuners, control knobs
5. Bare Knuckle Brute Force Pickups
6. Left off the pick guard for obvious reasons…..not to cover up the art
7. The finish is nothing more than several coats of matte shellac, lightly wet sanded and several more coats of old school cut wax with 0000 steel wool, buffed out”
