DiMarzio’s hum-canceling replacement pickups are the gold standard for modern Strat® and Tele® players. The Chopper T™ Neck is a ground-up design that combines a neodymium magnet and twin-blade hum-canceling coils. It retains the classic metal cover that Tele® neck pickups are known to have, but that’s where the similarities end.

We’ve optimized the magnetic field of the Chopper T™ Neck to deliver better string-to-string balance, even when notes are bent. The highs are clear but not harsh, and the midrange and low-end are punchy without mud.

Our new design delivers higher output, fast transients, and a lower noise floor than traditional Tele® neck pickups. It is carefully calibrated to ensure that a simple height adjustment will volume match it to your bridge pickup of choice, and utilizes our quick connect PCB baseplates to maintain a low profile.

250K controls (the usual value on most Tele® guitars) will produce a warm sound with clarity, but no aggressive bite: 500K controls will open the top end up more and brighten up the low strings as well. We recommend starting with a 250K potentiometer and a .022uf capacitor. If more top end is desired, switching to a 500K pot is recommended.
