Description
When you first play a guitar with a Free-Way switch, you might not even realize it is there – the guitar doesn’t look any different and the pickup selector feels just like a normal 3-way toggle giving Neck/Both/Bridge selections. It’s only when you realize that the Free-Way switch moves into another three forward positions that you understand what the Free-Way is all about.
The Free-Way switch was first used on stage in December 2007 during Led Zeppelin’s Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert where the new Gibson® Jimmy Page Les Paul® Custom was featured during an incredible performance of “For Your Life”
Fast, intuitive switching – all in one familiar place so it’s easy to understand and use. Classic looks – completely maintains the authentic design, appearance and condition of any guitar.
6 Position multi-function switch providing circuits for three pickup guitars; HH coil-split; piezo pickups; HSH and HSS schemes in particular. The 3X3-03 has 15 terminal connections providing flexibility for all kinds of variations on the above schemes and scope for custom circuit design as well.
The various pickup combinations available from a three pickup LP guitar are beyond the reach of a traditional toggle switch – but perfectly suited to the Free-Way with it’s ground breaking six-way function.
