Got to thank Christian for turning me onto these…Dropped nicely into a Squire FrankinJazz project. They’re built like a tank.

These tuners are a great improvement over the stock tuners that were on my Squire Affinity PJ bass. Two of the stock tuners had started to jam and the gears were starting to wear after only 4 months and one string change. The Gotoh GB2’s dropped in nicely. I had to drill new holes for the mounting screws. The original bottom holes on the headstock that are closer together had to be filled because of a slight offset in the Gotoh mount spacing for those two holes in each tuner. I used pieces of round toothpicks and carpenters glue. Once dried, a little trimming of the toothpick ends and I was set to drill new holes. The bushings fit the stock headstock holes but I added a few drops of CA glue to hold them in so they wouldn’t drop out by themselves. The Gotoh tuners mount plates fully cover all the original screw mounting holes in the headstock so I didn’t need to plug the remaining two original holes for each tuner and they were far enough away from the new holes needed, to not be an issue at all. These new tuners feel like they are built to last and are all-around a much higher quality than the stock tuners. They have been noticeably holding the basses tune much better as well. I ordered them in the evening and Solo Music had them packed and shipped the next morning. I received them the following day and was back to making beautiful noise later that evening. I couldn’t ask for better service and the product quality is top notch. Thanks Solo.
