This is an excellent gauge; more useful than the typical string height gauge. It’s versatile as it is designed well for much more than just string height. I especially like the holes for checking string action. No more squinting to see exactly where the strings line up.

My one complaint, which is why I only gave it 4 stars, is that it’s paper thin. Maybe it has to be for the holes to be useful, but I can’t help feeling like I’m going to crush the thing every time I use it.

    Still, highly recommended.

Overall I find this tool very useful and versatile, I would definitely recommend it, but similar to another review, it seems like it should be a bit thicker, it does bend very easily, and seems like it would crease very easily, otherwise I quite like it

Accurate and very useful but it is very fragile. You have to keep it in the provided case whenever you’re not using it or it will be ruined in no time.

Great for measuring Nut Slot Depth and Fret Wear but gauge print is tiny, need young eyes or magnification. Good tool.

First of all, the case for this thing is the best. I feel more important just holding it. When you flip the case open (this will also give you a fizzy feeling) there’s a card that is, of all things, helpful. Don’t chuck it out thinking it’s a business card. Then there is the tool itself, which is held by magnet to the inside of the case. I almost wasn’t sure how to get it out of there, and having read about its thinness, was hesitant to use much force. Regarding its thinness, I think it might be made this way on purpose as one of the instructional pictures shows it fitting into a fret slot with a saw slotting in beside it. I’m thinking if it was thicker, it couldn’t swing that. For some reason, it also feels like a device that could come in handy if breaking out of prison.
