I applied this water based lacquer to a guitar using an HVLP paint sprayer and got very good results without thinning. I applied a total of 11 thin coats. I did three coats per day and two the last day. I sanded the finish using Super Essilex 1000 grit each morning before painting. I am now waiting for the paint to cure before final sanding and polishing but I can see that the paint is drying very clear and will produce a beautiful result.
