Description
The Neck Relief Gauge can measure a guitar’s neck relief quickly and accurately. Place the gauge inbetween the 3rd and 4th strings with one foot on the top of first fret, and the other foot on the 12th fret. The indicator tip will then sit on either the 5th or 6th fret. The digital indicator reads the amount of bow in the neck. Adjusting the truss rod will increase or decrease the amount of relief to your liking.
Made of machined aluminum with anodized black finish, the wider feet allow the gauge to sit stably on the frets to get more accurate relief measurement. The digital indicator has a “zero” button and displays in inches or millimeters, 0.001″ or 0.01mm accuracy.
Relief measurements are shown as negative numbers in the reading. A reading of zero means that the fret tops are flat.

Excellent tool! It’d be great if it came with a few notes on how to use it—so we don’t have to go digging through the internet. But once you know how to use it, it’s very useful.
