Description

Oxford Supply Co specializes in traditional Nitrocellulose Lacquer for guitar builders, finishers, DIY’ers, kit builders, refinishers and repairs.

Our nitro is matched to some of the most classic guitar finishes from Gibson, Fender and others.

All aerosols come with two tips under the cap:
White Fan Tip – Produces a wide vertical fan pattern which mimics a spray gun, atomizing the lacquer at a very fine level. This tip is preferred for most applications for its consistent output, easy of use, and quick coverage. Recommended for spraying Sealer, Primer, Clear Coats and solid colors.

Red Cone Tip – Delivers a more focused, traditional, circular aerosol pattern. Very useful for spraying hard to reach areas like cutaways. Also allows for more control in spraying patterns such as sunbursts or headstock faces.

These items are only available to ship to the United States and Canada.

Dries quickly. Stacks well enough that as long as your substrate and material are pre-warmed, you can spray 2-3 puffs on a spot, come back to it a minute later and repeat without getting runs or sags. Finish varies from satiny feel to kind of rough eggshell depending on spray distance and thickness of coat. Material does spit a little- I suggest running under hot water and be diligent agitating aerosol can. Very soft, sands almost too easily- take care to use very light pressure when sanding- I would not recommend using anything as coarse as 320 grit for this primer. I am using 800.

This product is AMAZING, and will be my goto paint for all my bodies from now on.
If you are well versed in laying down paint either via a gun or rattle can, you’ll be amazed at how well this product applies.
Excellent well balanced coverage, quick drying time.
    I’d highly recommend this brand.

  3. Jason Iversen (verified owner)

This is far superior than what I was using before. You have to be careful when sanding but it goes on smooth and is easy to get an even surface. I’m going to be using this from now on

  4. Kevin Godin (verified owner)

Easy to put on, and did a good job.

Great product! I sprayed too much on the back of the bass and got some sags and runs, came back to it the next day and it had flattened out completely. Lucky me! Going to continue with candy apple red, wish me luck…
