Oxford Supply Co Touch-Up Pens are intended for smaller repairs such as chips, dents, scratches and dings.
To use a Touch-Up Pen shake for 60 seconds prior to use and then you must first prime it. Remove the cap and press the felt tip firmly down on a firm surface that’s not the piece you’re repairing – a scrap piece of hardwood works well as you can get a feel for the amount of lacquer that will flow from the chamber. Wait approximately 30 seconds and then press the tip down again until the tip has become fully saturated. Once this occurs you can now start your repair.
Clean the area and make sure it is completely dry and free of any contaminants. Use the pen tip to drop fill the desired area with lacquer. Do not “push” lacquer – the new lacquer will melt into the original lacquer of the repaired area. Although you don’t want to apply more than necessary, a nice wet pen is more likely to leave a smooth touch up (same idea as finishing up a spray job with a wet coat that flows nicely and dries flat).
Let the new lacquer dry flat for at least an hour before applying additional coats.
If you’re planning on wetsanding and buffing the area, it’s a great idea to follow up with several coats of Clear lacquer once your initial coat(s) of color lacquer has been applied. Once the repair has dried for at least 3 days follow up with micro-grit sanding and polishing.

The pen is a part of a bigger package with GluBoost thin. Black and Oxford clear Gloss. The guitar looks great it was cracked neck and back on an acoustic. There’s no trace of any of the materials used. Chunks filled huge stratches touch up with pen 2000 wet sanded clear coated zero sign of damage or repair. Amazed at my new skill lever with quality suppliers to Solo.
