Each curved brass spreader fits behind the neck, to capture the loosened strings and give you room for filing, cleaning, polishing or light repairs. Finish-friendly rubberized coating protects the neck.

Non marring tools to hold back strings off the fret board when inspecting frets or doing nut work . Saves strings . Reasonably priced .

Glad these come in a pair, one for up by the nut, another by the body join. Keeps the strings out of your work area and won’t damage anything.

Can you believe that those guys at Stew-You-Know-Who are charging $32 CAD for a set of string spreaders!? Thank god for SOLOmusicgear – I am quickly becoming a full-time, loyal fanboi. *Grin. These seem to be fine. The metal is sturdy, and the protective coating doesn’t seem inferior to the StewMakers variant . . .
Over all, I highly recommend. I have it on good authority that the SOLO Pro goodies are mostly all made with excellence in Japan – they aren’t cheaply fabricated in forced-labour factories.
