Description
If you’ve ever needed to change the angle of your guitar neck you’ve probably used some form of a shim. That could be maple wood shims or even business cards. The problem with standard shims is that depending on the angle you need, these create a gap between the neck and the neck pocket. Many often feel because there’s not full contact, that there’s a lack in tone and sustain.
With our tapered shims, you can achieve the right angle of degree while completely covering the neck pocket.
This set comes with 1 each of the following: 0.25 degree, 0.50 degree & 1 degree
*Shim taper measurements are approximate and may have a +/- 0.01 or 0.02mm variance.

I needed to lower the action on an EKO electric guitar which I bought in the mid 60’s. When I removed the bolt-on neck I discovered that there was a 1 cm long shim which created a gap in the neck-body connection. So I replaced it with the Solo 1 degree shim (~0.060″ at the thick end) to match the undesirable original wooden piece thickness, and added the 0.25 deg shim to get the needed neck angle. I had to carefully sand the thin end of each shim to improve the angle slightly due to the slightly off neck pocket.
I was really impressed with the much improved acoustic resonance, due to the improved neck contact with the body, a bonus to the lowered action!

Huge time saver if you’re used to making your own tapered shims for neck pickets. They’re dead on accurate, you can use a hole puncher to adjust the holes for the neck screws to pass through, and easy to reshape if needed.

These shims are wonderful to have on hand to do set-ups on guitars with bolt-on necks! I got lucky (maybe?) and was able to use without any extra shaping or sanding. I wish I’d discovered these sooner in life!

Purchased the set of 3 predrilled. The.25 worked great for me. Handy to have around. I should have ordered the one’s that are not predrilled, my mistake. Holes were off a bit, easily fixed.

Bought a set of 3 for a G&L s-type. Predrilled holes fit, and the .5 worked great for consistency of the action along the neck. Great company, great product.
