This is a great product. I’m very happy with the product, just wish they had bigger containers so I won’t have to buy it so often! I got one body done with a bit left over in the 8oz can.
I’m building a Jazzmaster-style guitar using Solo’s templates, and the body is swamp ash so the grain is thick and heavy. I bought the natural, which is fine but I decided that I wanted to tint the Oxford Grain filler black and high lite the grain under the stain. LOTS of stirring is required- the day before I was going to use it I gave it a good shake in the can and then turned it upside down overnight. Before tinting the filler the next day, I made sure to stir it until it was a soupy, creamy consistency, scooping the solid up off the bottom and mixing it around well. I poured the contents into a short, fat mason jar and added the tint there, as I didn’t need the entirety of the product tinted. I added just a touch of Mineral Spirits to make it a tad thinner for the first application, to get deeper into that heavy swamp ash grain. I let dry off for about 10-15min, then just using a rag buffed it off, pressing it in as I did so. Let it dry for 6-ish hours before coming back and putting a second coat on without thinning it. Same thing, buffed off after 10-15min of dry time. Let sit overnight to dry, sanded with 240, then 320. What a finish! Smooth as glass, and the grain looks amazing. Stained green over the grain, looks over the top.

I would recommend this product if asked what to use. Simple to use, works great, straightforward, done.

This did a great job on the Solo acoustic parlor kit that I purchased. I used the dark walnut colour for the back and sides and the natural for the top. The natural colour, once I scraped off the excess, allowed the sound hole graphic to come through quite clearly. I agree with Adam Blahut, you have to give the product a really good mix before you use it.
