I am new to guitar building and I was disappointed with my first 2 builds — both products from other companies. Solo seemed to have the best reputation of all the guitar kit suppliers so I purposely chose a Telecaster-style guitar from the builder with the best reputation — and I have not been disappointed. I found every aspect of the build pleasant and satisfying — the product was easy to work with in sanding and finishing, quick and straightforward to assemble and the wiring diagram was finally one that was accurate. I am proud to hang this guitar on my wall (along with 40+ others in my collection).I have since bought a second guitar kit from Solo which I have been working on today and hope to have it complete tomorrow. I am very pleased with the quality of my kit guitar. The neck was perfect. I gave it a light sand by hand with 1000 grit and used tru oil gun finish. Then some 000 steel wool. Oh my what a great feel. Fit and finish is way above the price. I stained mine because the wood was definitely a looker. I will buy again.
